Twelve Foot Ninja to support Fear Factory on their 'Demanufacture' tour!

TWELVE FOOT NINJA are one of the most talked about bands in Australia and with damn good reason! They have just come off a sold out national tour supporting the release of their killer new album, ‘Silent Machine’ which Beat Magazine exclaimed as “a unique and eclectic rock masterpiece”.

TWELVE FOOT NINJA embodies originality in everything they do and they're now ready to take on the rest of the World!  Although the world needs to wait a few more weeks as they have just been confirmed to support Fear Factory on their upcoming July tour!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FEAR FACTORY’s ‘Demanufacture’ is “a landmark of '90s metal that defied categorisation and remains a touchstone of the genre. “ – Kerrang!

Metallica’s Black album may have set the marker for highest selling metal album on the 90’s, but only 1 album can lay claim to being the decade’s most innovative and revolutionary: FEAR FACTORY’s ‘Demanufacture’.

Metal Hammer recently exclaimed “’Demanufature’ was so far ahead of its time that bands are still failing to rip it off convincingly today, Fear Factory's ultra-precise extreme metal attack dragged metal into the future.”

For the first time ever FEAR FACTORY will be performing their classic album ‘Demanufacture’ in its entirety and Australian fans will get to witness this first hand in July.

Pink announces The Kin as Adelaide support

6/20/2013

With only seven days to go until the start of PINK’s mammoth The Truth About Love Tour of Australia, on June 25 in Perth, two brilliant emerging bands have been confirmed to open the shows.

THE KIN will open the first 20 shows, beginning in Perth on Tuesday June 25 and ending in Brisbane on Tuesday July 23.

YOUNGBLOOD HAWKE take over the reins for the next 17 shows, starting in Sydney on Tuesday July 30 and finishing in Melbourne on Sunday August 25.

The opening act for the remaining dates will be announced soon.

Pink will perform a phenomenal 46 shows around Australia to a combined audience of more than 500,000.

THE KIN - “The question becomes how do you bring to life something that is so explosive live,” asks Thorald Koren, one-third of Interscope Recording group The Kin. “It’s like taking a picture of a full moon. It’s so big, how do you get it all in the frame?” That answer and many more will become apparent as the band opens twenty dates of the Australian leg of the Pink tour. So transformative are the band’s (Aussie natives Isaac and Thorald Koren, Shakerleg) live performances that Interscope Records signed The Kin after an executive stumbled into NYC’s famous Rockwood Music Hall one night and witnessed people watching the band with their mouths hanging open in amazement.

The band’s performances showcase not only Isaac and Thorald’s dual lead vocals and familial harmonies, but also the raw power of Shakerleg’s stick-free, bare-knuckle percussive stylings. The band has recently worked with the legendary Tony Visconti (Bowie, T-Rex); Nic Hard (The Church, The Bravery); Brent Kutzle of OneRepublic; as well as Christian Medice and Mitchy Collins who are both protegees of Pink collaborator Billy Mann. An EP by The Kin will be available in Australia at the start of their leg of the Pink tour.

YOUNGBLOOD HAWKE - Inspired by the Herman Wouk novel of the same name, Youngblood Hawke was born out of late night creative musings between longtime friends Sam Martin and Simon Katz. Exhausted by two years of touring with their former band and the general turbulence that comes with music industry success, Martin and Katz looked for a more simple, creative outlet where they could write and share music with friends and family without commercial pressures. Katz's longtime friend Tasso Smith moved to Los Angeles from Texas to join the band when he heard the first demos, and Alice Katz, who was a key part of the original songwriting sessions, joined as well. To round out the line-up they recruited drummer and friend Nik Hughes.

Youngblood Hawke captures the sound of five friends in mid-journey. It is the snapshot of a state of mind where, one mountain has been climbed, and there are more in the distance. But for right now, the view is beautiful.

Justin Bieber finally touring Down Under!!

The wait is over! The Frontier Touring Company is thrilled to finally confirm that the one and only Justin Bieber will be bringing the Believe tour to Australia and New Zealand this summer.

Australian and New Zealand Beliebers have been eagerly awaiting news of a tour that has already amazed audiences across more than 150 shows throughout North America, South America, Europe, Asia and Africa.

The lead up to the tour saw Bieber bunkering down for two months of ten-hour long rehearsal days. The final result is nothing short of incredible:

‘Hundreds of thousands of shrieking fans, many donning homemade T-shirts, singing, crying, dancing and, yes, wearing out their vocal cords with screams, turned the downtown L.A. arena into a virtual spaceship from another planet.’ – Hollywood Reporter

‘It was nothing if not spectacular - and just what we have come to expect... He rose on a podium to a new high and that looks like that’s just where he is going to stay - at the top.’ – Liverpool Echo

Bieber is an artist that needs no introduction with two Artist Of The Year American Music Awards, two Grammy nominations, more than 40 million Twitter followers and 15 million albums sold worldwide to his name.

The Canadian superstar has come a long way from the teenage sensation who racked up more than 10,000,000 views on his YouTube channel from word of mouth alone.

Discovered and signed by his manager Scooter Braun thanks to his spectacular cover videos of the likes of Justin Timberlake, Ne-Yo and Stevie Wonder, Bieber’s talent also earned him a mentor in pop icon Usher and a record deal with Island Def Jam Records.

Three studio albums, 3.3 billion VEVO video views and a box office smash feature-length film later, Justin Bieber’s Believe tour offers fans a glimpse of their idol in his finest form yet.

Inspired by Michael Jackson’s concerts from the 80s and 90s, Bieber aims to make you ‘believe in magic again’ with a show filled with lights, sounds and pyrotechnics.

The elaborate stage production of Believe is lead by the show’s director Jon M. Chu, the name behind Bieber’s smash hit bio-doc Never Say Never as well as the Step Up franchise. This is Chu’s first stage show and promises to be the Hollywood-worthy extravaganza that ups the ante on Bieber’s previous My World tour.

The Believe tour features more than a dozen dancers, feature-film quality video segments and a triple-level stage with wind machines, cranes and runways. Show director, Jon M. Chu, lets fans know what they have to look forward to:

"The show starts before the show even starts. We had a cinematic score composed for when people take their seats, and there are other (pre-show) elements I can't talk about. When people walk in, we want them to feel like they're about to take a ride at Disneyland. They will let go of their everyday cares."

There are no further dates to be added to Justin Bieber’s Believe Australia & New Zealand tour. Be quick to grab your tickets as these shows are sure to sell out!

Advance tickets for the Australian leg of Justin Bieber’s 2013 Believe Tour will be available to all Visa Credit, Debit and Prepaid cardholders from 10am (local time) Tuesday 25 June 2013 until 10am (local time) Thursday 27 June 2013 or until presale tickets sell out at www.visaentertainment.com.au

Every Time I Die to hit Fowlers Live this October

Often imitated but never duplicated, EVERY TIME I DIE continue to be the boldest, most unique band in the metalcore scene.

EVERY TIME I DIE have just unleashed their brand new album titled ‘Ex Lives’ which is the band’s highly anticipated follow up to 2009’s raging masterwork ‘New Junk Aesthetic’.” Bigger, badder, and louder than ever, Ex Lives will go down as the definitive Every Time I Die record. The Buffalonian quintet didn’t just set the bar for all remaining metalcore releases, rather they tore it apart, drowned it in whiskey and gasoline, and burnt that motherfucker to the ground.”– Absolute Punk

Anberlin are playing at The Gov in September, with The Maine & William Beckett (The Academy Is...)

Picture
Floridian 5-piece, Anberlin will celebrate their 10th anniversary by bringing brand new anthems and a pair of brilliant international supports to Australia this September.

Anberlin's live show is a force to be reckoned with. Such a massive part of the band's continued success and the basis of their creative inspiration; their live performances manage to exude warmth and intimacy regardless of venue. It's reassuring given the band has progressed from some of Australia's most intimate club venues to some of the country's biggest stages.

Stephen Christian from Anberlin admits that the band's history of raucous live shows was a huge inspiration for the recording of the band's sixth studio album Vital- released last October. "I recognize now that what I love the most about Anberlin is the high energy, the high momentum, the veins that are popping from necks when the fans scream along," the singer admits. It's with that intense energy in mind that Anberlin infused their new album with the same vigor. "That's the most fun. That is where I feel like Anberlin exists, in those kind of situations. And I think that's where we excel."

Australian crowds are certainly in no position to disagree. Their last Australian tour- on which they revolutionised the tried and tested live performance format by including acoustic songs, covers, requests and even live Q&As- was a massive success. Their promise to linger at their merch table after each performance, to greet every adoring crowd member, remains the stuff of fan faction and has set the bar impossibly high for their peers. Who knows what inspired performances they may extend to their loyal Australian fanbase on their eighth visit to our shores.

Arizona's The Maine will make their second visit to the country, riding valiantly atop their fourth full-length album Forever Halloween. Produced by Brendan Benson of The Raconteurs, the album is the band's second consecutive self-funded release following their major label departure. It's a tasty slice of pop punk, far more melodic and self-assured than they've ever been before.

William Beckett is better known as front man and founder of much loved US band The Academy Is... Boasting fresh new perspective and a slew of incredible songs, Beckett commenced his solo ventures by ditching the record label rulebook so often referred to throughout his band's seven years and five albums together. "No compromise, no bullshit", Beckett insists. "It's all about good, honest music and lots of it. It's all about fearlessness and new ideas. It's all about being true to who I am and what I stand for". Beckett's next chapter started last year with his solo EP release Walk The Talk, and his story will continue in Australia this September.

Anberlin will play at The Gov on 10th of September. Tickets are available here

Pseudo Echo are coming back to The Gov, with A Beat For You...

6/12/2013

Picture
Pseudo Echo were the pioneers of electro music within Australia during the 80s and over the years, have established themselves as one of the most successful and influential bands in the country.

With smash hits like Listening and A Beat for You, from their debut gold album Autumnal Park, followed by the platinum selling Love An Adventure album which featured the hits Donʼt Go, Living in a Dream and the title track Love an Adventure, the band was set to make its mark on the international stage.

Brian Canham (singer/songwriter/guitarist) then came up with the masterstroke; to record a killer version of hit song Funky Town. At just 24 years of age, Brian produced a worldwide smash hit which saw them top the Australian charts for 12 weeks, soar to the USA and UK Top 10 as well as dozens of other countries. Pseudo Echoʼs Funky Town came to be the unofficial anthem of the 1980s; big hair, bigger hooks and totally unforgettable and it still packs out dance floors 25 years later.

Pseudo Echoʼs music continues to influence and resonate today with remixes and samples of their songs by renowned DJʼs such Smash/n/Grab, Sly, Quench and Mr. Quick. The line up features: Brian Canham, Ben Grayson, Darren Danielson and Simon Rayner. Pseudo Echo continues their musical legacy by hitting the road again in 2013, catch them at The Gov July 27.

Lamb Of God and Meshuggah Touring Together in September!

Over the past year the world’s metal community united with a solitary focus… Free Randy!

Australian metal fans now get their chance to unite to celebrate the triumphant return of LAMB OF GOD.

There are metal bands and then there is LAMB OF GOD. Hitting with the force of an invading apocalyptic army, LAMB OF GOD are back to inject Australia with a crippling dose of pure metal. Their seventh album ‘Resolution’ had Metal Hammer in awe…”Lamb Of God have delivered the album of their career…fucking amazing record!” As if we'd expect anything less from this Virginia wrecking crew.

Nothing feels safe when you're listening to MESHUGGAH.

MESHUGGAH’s dense, polyrhythmic roar elevates tech-metal artisanship to such insane heights; they often build new ceilings just to smash through them. They have forged their own path and are one of those rare bands you just have to hear to believe. This is nowhere more evident than on their latest album Koloss which had Metal Assault exclaiming that “this is an audacious effort destined for greatness”

As powerful, as hungry, and as extreme as ever, LAMB OF GOD and MESHUGGAH will be a show talked about for decades to come.
