Ok, so here is the official media release. This is great news!!

Soundwave Festival 2015 will be held over 2 days in each city - Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney & Brisbane. Half the bands play day one. The other half play day two. They criss-cross Saturday/Sunday in each city.

Adelaide & Melbourne will be the 1st weekend of the festival. The dates for these two cities are Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 of February.

Sydney and Brisbane will be the 2nd weekend of the festival; held over Saturday 28 February and Sunday 1 March.

The ticket price for the 2 days will be the same as last year. $185 + booking fees. These will be limited in number. There will also be a number of day tickets available at $120 + booking fees.

We are hoping that offering day tickets will make the festival experience available to those who may not be able to afford weekend tickets. Putting the line-up across 2 days enables us to minimize clashes; give bands longer sets, better staging, production & infrastructure. We are also hoping that this will give fans better value for money and a less stressful day

The entire lineup will be announced at once and weekend tickets will then go on sale. The lineup will then be split into individual days when day tickets go on sale.

In recent years we have lost great bands over too many bands wanting to play after dark. This new set-up also gives us twice the dark!

SATURDAY 21 FEBRUARY & SUNDAY 22 FEBRUARY, 2015

BONYTHON PARK, ADELAIDE

SATURDAY 21 FEBRUARY & SUNDAY 22 FEBRUARY, 2015

FLEMINGTON RACECOURSE, MELBOURNE

SATURDAY 28 FEBRUARY & SUNDAY 1 MARCH, 2015

OLYMPIC PARK, SYDNEY

SATURDAY 28 FEBRUARY & SUNDAY 1 MARCH, 2015

RNA SHOWGROUNDS, BRISBANE

Everybody's favourite hard rock, metal, punk, and everything in between festival, Soundwave, will be back with a bang in 2015. This evening, festival boss AJ Maddah announced on his personal Twitter account the following:
Picture
If previous years are anything to go by, we can expect the line-up to start appearing this coming August.

Update 10:09pm.
Further tweets from AJ include the news that there will be less sideshows than previous years and that the aim for the announcement is to come in early August. The lineup will be announced as one list with the weekend split being announced in September. Weekend tickets will go on sale first with individual day tickets being released after the announcement of which bands are playing on which day in each city.

Indulge Sound

Not just content with a killer live show TONIGHT ALIVE’s new album ‘The Other Side’ “is refocused and retooled, culminating in what is unquestionably the quintet’s most arresting material to date”. – Property Of Zak

Courtney Love is coming to Thebarton Theatre in August.

Courtney Love. Musician. Songwriter. Actress. Activist. Celebrity. Provocateur.

There are few artists who fit into all of the above categories, performers whose life and work are impossible to pigeonhole. There is only one Courtney Love. The extraordinary music she created with Hole and on her own broke totally new ground. She has enjoyed not only real rock credibility but also exceptional commercial success, especially with Live through This and Celebrity Skin which were both certified multi-platinum and Grammy nominated.

She first entered our homes as the Angsty lead singer of Hole and wife of super famous Nirvana front man Kurt Kobain.

She first broke into acting as Larry Flynt's wife Althea in the controversial movie 'The People VS Larry Flynt'.

She has since continued to appear in our news feeds with onstage antics, more news about Kurt, and of course, her knowing of where the missing Malaysian Airlines flight is among other things.

Now the news is that she is coming Down Under in August! YAY!!

She will play Thebarton Theatre on the 15th of August thanks to Lennard Promotions, with tickets available through Venuetix.

Pop Will Eat Itself Return To Oz For The First Time In Two Decades!

POP WILL EAT ITSELF, aka PWEI, aka the Poppies stormed on to the late 80’s UK scene with their high energy, industrial tinged dance / rock anthems. They shared many a stage with such musical contemporaries as Ned’s Atomic Dustbin, Jesus Jones, and The Wonder Stuff. However, it was their sample driven, biting social satire that set them apart from the others and they quickly gained a rabid worldwide following. Their relentless live shows and groundbreaking artwork also solidified their position as innovators.

During the late 80’s and early 90’s Australia was like a second home for the Poppies playing a stack of incredible shows that are still talked about to this day. Now in August and September 2014, the Poppies will be making their long overdue return to Australia for the first time in two decades!

After a years of going full tilt, the band racked up a gobsmackingly awesome musical legacy before running out of steam in 1996 when Clint Mansell called it quits to work on his award winning soundtrack career. All remained quiet on the Poppies front, bar a brief reunion in 2005 until 2011 when original member Graham Crabb, legendary vocalist Mary Byker (Gaye Bykers on Acid, Killing Joke Apollo 440, Pitchshifter), drumming powerhouse Jason Bowld (Pitchshifter, Killing Joke) and Gary Numan’s guitarist Tim Muddiman fused an all new reinvigorated line up of the band we loved so much - POP WILL EAT ITSELF!

The line up will be giving some of the Poppies best known songs a huge workout on this tour including Everything’s Cool, Wise Up Sucker, Def Con One, Ich Bin Ein Auslander, Can U Dig It?, Dance Of The Mad Bastards, PWEIzation, R.S.V.P and many more.

If you were there last time, you know what to expect. If you weren’t you’re in for one of the best nights of the year and one that will be talked about for the next two decades!

Can U Dig It?

The Crimson ProjeCKt are coming to The Gov

6/17/2014

Picture
The Crimson ProjeKCt is a King Crimson offshoot featuring 3 current members of that historic band. Adrian Belew and Tony Levin joined King Crimson in 1981, giving birth to the 4th incarnation of the band, (alongside Robert Fripp and Bill Bruford). Pat Mastelotto joined in 1994, initiating the double-trio phase. They last played together as King Crimson in 2008.

Belew, Levin and Mastelotto still have a large influence on popular culture due in part to their critically acclaimed work with some of the worldʼs most influential artists, such as Frank Zappa, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Peter Gabriel, David Sylvian, Talking Heads, Paul Simon, John Lennon, and Nine Inch Nails.

In the summer of 2012 this sextet supported Dream Theater on a US tour under the name The Crimson ProjeKCt and have retained this moniker ever since. The Crimson ProjeKCt has toured the United States twice, and performed in both Russia and Japan. Theyʼll now perform at The Gov for the first time on Monday, June 30 off the back of a successful Crowdfunding campaign to get them here.

THE AMITY AFFLICTION ARE BRINGING IT TO THEBBY ONCE AGAIN!

6/12/2014

Picture
The Amity Affliction have announced their biggest headline tour to date, in support of their recently released smash hit album “Let The Ocean Take Me”, which was released last Friday June 6. The tour will take in some of Australia’s most iconic venues and will include support from some of the hottest heavy music acts in the world.

“Let The Ocean Take Me” is the 4th album by The Amity Affliction, and is the follow up to 2012’s #1 & Gold Certified hit “Chasing Ghosts”. The album (and it’s lead single “Pittsburgh”) has connected with fans across the world and has reaffirmed Amity’s position as one of the most successful Australian acts in recent memory. Later this week they will announce a worldwide headline tour taking in venues across Europe, and North America.

The Let The Ocean Take Me Tour will be their first Australian dates of 2014. While their last three Australian tours saw them sell out multiple nights in each city, this time around the band will upgrade to their largest rooms yet including the iconic Festival Hall in Melbourne, Hordern Pavilion in Sydney and Red Hill Auditorium in Perth. They will also return for a third time to Brisbane’s Riverstage, where they put on one of the most memorable heavy music performances ever seen in Australia in 2012 on their “Chasing Ghosts” Tour.

Along for the ride will be Architects, who hail from Brighton in the UK. The release of their recent breakthrough album “Lost Forever, Lost Together” saw them charting at #13 on the ARIA Charts, and created an unprecedented demand for them downunder. This will be their 5th tour of Australia and their first since 2012. “Lost Together…” was one of the most critically acclaimed heavy records of 2014 and was considered by most music critics and fans to be an early contender for Album of The Year upon its release back in March.

US metalcore act Issues released their debut album in February of this year, and shocked the music world by entering the US Billboard Chart at #9. Having taken the heavy music scene by storm so early in their career, it’s no surprise that they will first tour on Vans Warped Tour as well as the Reading and Leeds Music Festivals before they jump on board the Let The Ocean Take Me Tour. This will be their first ever trip to Australian shores.

Stray From The Path made their first ever trip to Australian in 2013 supporting Northlane, and became an instant fan favourite. Hailing from Long Island, the four piece play some of the most powerful and upbeat hardcore music you’ll hear. Their latest album, “Anonymous” was released late 2013, and peaked at #40 on the US Billboard Chart.

Rounding out the bill will be Australian hardcore juggernaughts Deez Nuts who will have just come off a series of worldwide festival appearances that includes Soundwave (AU), Groezrock (Belgium), Impericon Fest (Germany / UK), Heavy Festival (UK) and Outspoken Festival (Germany). Having spent the majority of 2013 headlining around Europe to thousands of fans a night, this will be their 3rd and Final Australian tour of 2014 after their afternoon slot across Soundwave Festival and this month’s sold out Rampage Tour.

Tickets to the Let The Ocean Take Me Tour will be available nationally from 9am, Friday June 20th.

A limited release VIP pre-sale will be made available at 9am, Thursday June 19th. Fans who buy tickets on June 19th will go into the draw to win a chance to stand side of stage during The Amity Affliction’s set.
