Presented by Truth Inc Records, Adelaide’s NEW DEAD METALFEST returns bigger and better than ever for its 4th instalment to be held at Fowlers live on May 25th. This licensed All Ages event is designed to have some of Adelaide’s upcoming metal talent share the stage with the country’s biggest and best metal acts, and this year’s line-up is easily the biggest and heaviest yet.

Tasmanian death metallers and one of our country’s largest metal exports  PSYCROPTIC and hard hitting extremists THE AMENTA will be returning to Adelaide for Headlining slots alongside Touring heavyweights NE OBLIVISCARIS, FRANKENBOK, OUROBOROS  and THE SCHOENBERG AUTOMATON. Crowd favourites Melbourne’s BLACK LIKE VENGEANCE and Adelaide’s CLOSED CASKET have both recently reformed and will also be playing their first shows back at this event.

Leading the charge of Adelaide bands is TRUTH CORRODED who have been locked away writing their new release and this will be their first show for 6 months, add to this the might of INFILTRAITOR, ARCADIA (both finishing up the recording of their debut albums) and the new talent of SEMINAL EMBALMMENT, HIDDEN INTENT, MANIACAL, ASYLUM BUTCHERY AND SKRYMGORE and this is clearly the biggest all Australian heavy music event to hit Adelaide in a long time.

The New Dead's popularity rises with each event and it’s the must see Australian metal event in Adelaide's calendar year, so make sure you are a part of it. Tickets for the Fest can be purchased  via moshtix.com.au for $25 (plus booking fee) or at the door on the day for $30.

Sticky Fingers return to The Gov, bringing new songs with them.

After an almost sold out show last time they hit The Gov, Sticky Fingers return May 10, this time armed with a brand new album, Caress Your Soul.

Not ones to shy away from the spotlight, Sticky Fingers are quite comfortable sharing their personal stories with their fans, as they know better than most, these types of experiences are relatable for most people. It's for this reason that Sticky are calling them psychotic, surf, dub, love songs.

Personal relationships aside, touring actually works well for Sticky Fingers, it gives an otherwise rowdy bunch of misfits structure, so, touring? Yes, they're doing it!

Roots/rock Adelaide seven-piece, Babylon Burning take influence from bands like Blue King Brown and The Beautiful Girls. They have started 2013 off with a bang launcing their new single, Break the Chains, their energetic live show will be a good fit with the crazy tight antics of Sticky Fingers.

Dan Crestani brings his soulful and powerful sound along to the party. He has received raving reviews on his first solo EP, Soul’s at Sea.

In a special event to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the release of Beating the Boards – a live double album recorded with the Foster Brothers – Jon English is hitting the road for a series of concerts, taking the band’s original line up (Peter Deacon, John Dallimore, John ‘Chief’ Coker, Keith ‘Stretch’ Kerwin, and Greg Henson), along with him! They will be raising the roof here at The Gov, November 16.

From 1981 when English recruited the band for a tour of Germany and Scandinavia (where they won the award for Best Concert by Visiting Artist in Norway), until the release of Beating the Boards in 1983 and their second tour of Scandinavia, Jon English and the Foster Brothers toured Australia and New Zealand, also releasing the albums Some People and Jokers and Queens (with Marcia Hines), and selling out places like Twin Towns on the Gold Coast for a week at a time. They also toured as support for Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers in 1986, the same year the band released their last album together, Dark Horses.

‘It was huge fun’, says English ‘we were very creative and wrote some great songs together. I really loved working with these guys. It’s just such a great sound and I can’t wait to get back on the road with them again.’

Something For Kate are excited to announce their first extensive Australian tour in over six years this coming May and June. The ‘Star-Crossed Cities Tour’ will see the band visit lather venues in each capital city, as well as playing many of the regional areas and cities that have been bereft of a visit from one of Australia’s best loved bands, for the first time in many years.

The band will showcase material from their new album, the critically acclaimed ‘Leave Your Soul To Science’, as well as a comprehensive selection of material from their large and enviable back catalogue.

Upon it’s release in October 2012, ‘Leave Your Soul To Science’ 2012 was hailed by fans and critics alike as Something For Kate’s finest work to date and entered the ARIA album charts at number 5. A short tour of capital cities followed, with shoes selling out in minutes and additional shows added to meet demand.

Joining the band for all shows will be Melbourne’s one and only Courtney Barnett. Following the release of her debut EP ‘I’ve Got A Friend Called Emily Farris’, Barnett followed up with the brilliant single ‘History Eraser’ which was regarded by critics as one of the singles of 2012.

With a long history of Something For Kate tours selling out at lightning speed, fans are advised to get in fast to secure their tickets for what will be a most memorable night of music spanning the career of one of Australia’s most revered and respected bands.

Soilwork are touring, and playing @ The Gov in October!!

‘Soilwork assaulted the crowds with their merciless metallic wall of noise, wringing every last ounce of energy out of the black-shirted masses’- The au review

Swedish metal-heads, Soilwork, have been regarded by many as pioneers in the genre of melodic death metal. Alongside fellow Swedish acts such as In Flames and Dark Tranquility, the band’s unique style of melodic metal is a fusion of the classic Gothenburg metal sound with power-groove riffs that were prominent in 70’s and 80’s British and European metal.

Since renaming themselves in 1996, Soilwork really have been ‘working from the ground up’ developing their sound, adopting more singing and soaring melodies in their most recent release ‘The Living Infinite’, as well as re-visiting the faster rhythm sections and intricate guitar work that became their signature sound.

Playing to sold-out crowds on their last Australian visit in 2010, the band delivered a monster live show, proving themselves to be a world-class act. Returning to our shores, the metal powerhouse that is Soilwork are sure to bring a skull-crushing, heart-pumping show even bigger than the last.

You can see them strut their stuff at The Gov October 5.

After an overwhelming reaction to the recent one-off show in their hometown Adelaide, at our place! The Superjesus will head out on the road touring Australia playing a couple of shows in each state. After the success of the last sold out show at The Gov the band have decided to put on not one, but two epic shows this time around on the 28th and 29th of June.

Their recent show here, February 1 was an emotional experience for the audience, who flocked to the venue from all over the country to see the band for the first time in ten years. It was an undeniable decision for The Superjesus to decide to take it one step further.

Fans can expect yet another night to remember – the band have stood the test of time – delivering all of those anthemic songs with even more raw energy than ten years ago.

‘This show was a big deal; a big deal for the band, and a big deal to fans who were buzzing so hard with excitement that it makes it difficult to grasp why The Superjesus ever broke up at all…Moments like this are rare in live music and made everyone feel privileged to be there to share such an epic evening’ – The AU Review

‘It was clear the energy the four-piece had shared for so long had never disappeared; more like a dormant volcano biding its time to do what it does best’ – Live Music Adelaide.
