It was a cold Tuesday night that had the young masses converge on the Thebby Theatre for the sold out A Day To Remember show.

Dream On Dreamer started it off to an already packed house, lucky bastards! It was clear that the lads had a bit of a following with the Adelaide fans. Thanks go to Melbourne (yeah I said it) for giving us a good hardcore band in our own neck of the woods. It was pretty dope that they got to support a band that was as world class as themselves.

In saying that I can guarantee that no one else there had a bigger boner than I when The Devil Wears Prada came out on stage, which is kinda scary due the fact that I was at least twenty years older than every human there. Good music is timeless! Now I'm an Atheist and TDWP are right into Jesus, but godamnit, they can bang it out proper.

So proper that some of the first timers to the pit shat themselves, and by their second song the barrier became a body retrieval zone! I gotta give a shout out to the Andrew, Cherie, Wayne, Patrick, Pup, Brenton and the other men of Weslo security for taking care of us all on this night. They were hoisting people over the barrier with back breaking professionalism - and this was just the beginning of the fucking gig! Guns!

Oh, and to the Prada lads, the devil loves you and so do I.

Righto, here we go.  A Day To Remember came out and straight up owned the theatre! I haven't seen grommets lose their shit like this since the London Riots! And wow! The production costs for this tour had to be horrendous.

Insane light show, streamers and beach balls accompanied "another song about the weekend" and "My Life For Hire" along with a shit load of toilets rolls being thrown out by a troupe that just appeared from the wings. Then, my mate Hartley bounces out on stage dressed in a banana suit and starts blasting t-shirts out of a pressure cannon into the seething masses - That shit had some distance too!! T-shirts got blasted to the balcony and all the way back to the mixing desk. Sweet work if you can get it...

"You Should've Killed Me When You Had The Chance" sealed it for me mid set. I thoroughly enjoyed watching all these kids sing along as one! For all the gigs I've had the pleasure of seeing at the Thebby, this one was without a doubt the best when it came down to unison. Shit was tribal and everyone was stoked!!

Keep an ear out for ADTR's new (and fifth) album "Common Courtesy". These chaps from Florida seem to be going from strength to strength and I thank them for having me along for the ride!

Do yourself a favour and get out to listen to live original music. It's one of the best things going and quite frankly the ducks nuts.

Peace

B
